Acute onset vomiting in dogs

dog under blanket

In the last couple of months we have seen a number of dogs, of all ages, presenting with acute/sudden onset vomiting. Dogs will often vomit multiple times in a 12 hour period and go off food, some dogs will also go on to develop diarrhoea. Dogs generally recover quickly with symptomatic treatment. The condition is being seen across the UK and a survey is being carried out by the University of Liverpool to better understand the condition. If you suspect your dog may have suffered from this illness and would like to take part in the survey then please click on the following link:

Building work progress- We apologise for any inconvenience.

Nine months after building work started at Holmer Vet Surgery, we are finally starting to be able to utilise (in part) the new extension. Our bright new dog waiting area, with temporary seating arrangements, is now in use. Currently the future cat waiting area is being utilised as the temporary reception desk, whilst work is carried out in the old waiting area to create a new reception and third vet consult room.  We apologise that during this transition period patients will need to be led, or carried, around the outside of the building to the consultation rooms. We apologise for any inconvenience or delays this may cause, but we are confident that once the building works are complete the improvements will be of benefit to everyone. We thank you all for your patience and understanding and we will endeavour to keep you updated on the works progress. It is hoped that the reception works will be completed in the next 6-8 weeks.
